Emerald Greens Men’s Club

League’s Commence April 23rd(9-Hole) & April 24th (18-Hole)

Important Information:

If you are a new player and have not given me a GHIN or sent a CARD (playing 18 holes at Emerald) you need to get that done as soon as possible please.

Any questions, please send an email to egmcleagues@gmail.com

Communication:

All Communication will be done via this website, email and the Golf League Guru App(Push).

If your team has not paid in full, PLEASE BRING MONEY on Wednesday April 24th or Thursday April 25th PRIOR TO your tee time. See Wayne Rhoades (9-hole) or Steve Retzlaff (18-Hole) to Pay.

GOLD TEES:

Please confirm with your respective league director(s) as soon as possible if you are playing from the gold tee’s. In the App, your name will be followed by a “(G).” If you do not communicate this prior to Tuesday April 22nd, you will play from the white tee for the entire season.

APP INFORMATION:

Download Golf League Guru Here:

APP Main Screen:

The main screen will show your League (9-Hole or 18-Hole; if you are in both, you will be able to select the dropdown at the top).

The top of the screen will show your next match and opponents.

If you are not playing that week, it will show your next scheduled match.

SUB Requests:

If you need a sub, YOU must request. If your partner needs a SUB, THEY must request.

  • Press the “ROSTER” button,

  • Then press the “REQUEST SUB” button,

  • Then select the round YOU need a sub for

  • Then either leave the “All Players”, or if you have talked to someone in particular that can sub for you, you can select their name (if they are scheduled to play that week, their name will NOT show up.

  • Then Select EMAIL and/or PUSH (I recommend both) then SUBMIT!

Play a Round/Live Score entry:

  • From the main screen, press Live Scoring (It will default to current week)

  • Select My Tee Group, Observer Mode, Myself Only or My Team Only, PRESS PLAY (It is best if one person does scoring for all, and another one does the card (from a different team)

  • Then, Press the hole that you want to enter scores on

  • Then enter the scores for each player (+/-)

  • Press CLOSE

  • After each hole, enter your entire pairings score and press SAVE SCORES! This is important to press SAVE SCORES or they will not save!

  • Then repeat for each hole remembering to press SAVE SCORES!!

Schedules:

Both the 9-Hole and 18-Hole Leagues schedules are set or will be by April 20th. Your app will reflect your match, pairings, course and tee time (if you are scheduled to play).

Just in case, the schedule, standings and Handicaps will be posted each week on the bulletin board.

2+ Member Teams:

If you have more than 2 people on your team, it is YOUR responsibility to change team members for the week via the sub-request system (see below for instructions).

Cards:

Cards will be printed for your convenience to track your matches and for back-up in case there is an issue with the app. If I do not print, or cannot, use scorecards from the course. Make sure to print team names, first and last names and other detailed info.

Hand in cards at the end of the night on the table in back and in their respective bins (Near the Fireplace at Bogeys)

I may revisit the need to print and have you simply use course cards. We will always have signed cards.

Absent Player/BLIND Rules:

One or Both players must be present to earn points per team. If you are the only player for your team, your score is the “BEST BALL”

Missing team/opponent:

If your entire opponent's team is missing, you must earn points.  Your team will play the course at PAR.

Initial Handicap:

If you do not have a current handicap in the system (new players) please get me at least 18 scores from Emerald Greens attested, or proof of score from another handicap system prior to 4/21.

If you do not, you will start with a ZERO (scratch) for that week. It will adjust for the following week, but it sucks…

Pace of Play/Concession/Etc

  • We are not the PGA-Play Fast – READY GOLF

  • Local Rule for Out of Bounds/Lost Ball – Drop in fairway “arc’d” from point of entry to the fairway

  • Concessions (Match Play):

    • You can concede the hole (You give the hole to your opponent)`

      • You pick up, tell your opponent “that’s good (or any form of) then:

        • If you are on the Green and you are putting and cannot win, and you think you will make the put, record as if you made the putt; or:

        • If you are at least two strokes away from holing out, mark an “X” in the APP (next to the “+” sign) for your score and your opponent will score the APP/Card as if they made the next shot; You lose the hole no matter your score as you put an “X” in the APP/Card; the software will auto calculate based on ESC
